Partnerships and Events

We're a friendly family business, and actively support the local community through strong partnerships and regular events. We collaborate with schools, charities, and local businesses, hosting trade mornings, charity fundraisers, and community days. We like to foster lasting relationships, promote local causes, and reflect our commitment to giving back and supporting growth in the local area.

Pulborough Pancake Event

Feb 2026

What a flippin’ fantastic day at the Annual Great Pancake Event in Pulborough! We’re always delighted to sponsor this brilliant event. The team works tirelessly serving the community and raising vital funds for some truly amazing causes. From start to finish, it was a real stack of success! The proceeds support Macmillan palliative care based in Midhurst, The Billingshurst MacMillan Group, Pulborough Lunch Club, and also Education West Africa.

Huge thanks to all the volunteers, organisers, and everyone who came along. We’re proud to stand alongside you and help make such a meaningful difference.

Bonfire Night

Nov 2025

The teams were out prior to the annual bonfire weekend with pallets to help build bonfires at local community events in Cranleigh and Pulborough in 2025. We’re proud to support these fantastic local events and the hardworking volunteers who make it happen every year. Great effort from the team, embodying everything that Laker represents; community, local, first class service!

Race Night Sponsor

Nov 2025

We were delighted to be a sponsor of the 2025 Cowfold FC Race Night!

The event took place at the Village Hall in Cowfold with an evening of fun, excitement, and community spirit.

Trade Morning

4TH APRIL 2025

On Friday 4th April 2025 we held our first ever Trade Morning at Laker Pulborough!

The event was a resounding success where customers and suppliers met over bacon butties provided by Mike’s Posh Nosh, our on site burger van. Thanks to generous suppliers, we were able to organise a raffle, the proceeds of which were split between local organisations: The Mary How Trust and Pulborough Shedders.

The Mary How Trust offer private health screenings on a pay-as-you-can-afford basis, supporting the community to lead healthier lives and identify potential health problems as early as possible.

The Pulborough Shedders, part of the Men in Sheds global organisation, meet twice weekly to work on projects and share a cup of tea! Men in Sheds was set up to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and combat social isolation. An estimated 33,000 people benefit from sheds across the world and we are so pleased to be able to support our local Shed.

The photo shows Team Laker (Hayley, Rob, Ady and Christian) together with Tim from the Shedders.

Cranleigh Carnival

JUNE 2024

In June 2024, the Cranleigh Team arrived at their first ever Cranleigh Carnival.

The annual event is organised by the Cranleigh Lions and boasts over 100 stalls including food and drink, local businesses and charities, children's entertainment and of course the famous procession to top it all off!

Attendees were invited to a ‘Lakerised Lucky Dip’ with our mini bulk bags hiding a variety of sweets and prizes. Donations were collected and donated to the Lions fund, which supports local causes and the community.

Pulborough Pancake Event

4th March 2025

We were flippin’ delighted to support the Pulborough Pancake Event on Tuesday 4th March.

The organisers managed to sell over 520 pancakes during the day! Not content with simply sending over a cheque, Laker’s own Morgan and Reece went along to ahem taste test and join in the fun with the raffle!

They are pictured with organiser Paddy above. As well as being quite delicious, the event raised £3550 for Macmillan Palliative Care, Pulborough Lunch Club and Educate West Africa.

ONGOING SUPPORT

Making way for our new range of Frenchic Paint, we found ourselves with a surplus of around thirty cans of paint and no space left on our shelves.

Rather than let it go to waste, our first thought was to give it a second life somewhere it would really matter and the Pulborough Shedders immediately came to mind. In true Shedder style, they didn’t just accept the paint, they branded it!

Their tongue-in-cheek new paint collection has been proudly dubbed “Hint of Sawdust” and will be sold to raise funds for the Club. We’re proud to support such a brilliant local group, and glad that a simple act of clearing shelf space turned into something that will benefit many others
